Faiza Hansraj-Jackson

Public Health Practitioner Specialist

Faiza is a Public Health Research Practitioner. Her background is in public health, health promotion and the management and control of infectious diseases, and prior to this role, she was an epidemiologist and healthcare scientist at Public Health Scotland, working on antimicrobial resistance and infection control; gastrointestinal diseases and zoonoses; and being part of the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her role at GCPH, she will be leading the Scottish Government funded pilot project ‘Cash First’ for Glasgow, as part of their ‘Ending the need for Food Banks’ strategy, working in partnership with Glasgow City Council, Glasgow City HSCP, a wide range of third sector organisations, the Glasgow City Food Plan team and the Glasgow Fair Food for All partnership.
