A Call to Debate : A Call to Action

The Director of Public Health's report on the population of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde 2007-2008 was published in the autumn of 2007. The report highlighted the challenges of excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, obesity, poverty, alongside the major global public health  issues of climate change and pollution.  The actions the NHS Board and partners are promoting to tackle these issues are laid out in the report.  The report is available on the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde web site.

 

Glasgow Community Planning Partnership Residents Surveys

In Autumn 2007, Glasgow Community Planning Partnership commissioned a survey of 10,000 households in Glasgow to establish residents’ views, perceptions and expectations of issues relating to their neighbourhoods.  A survey of 1,000 residents in each of the 10 Local Community Planning Partnerships was conducted. The survey asked a series of questions of local residents relating to: security & community safety, cleansing & environment, quality of neighbourhood, quality of local service provision, quality of life; and communication/participation.

Schools Survey - Health and Well-being of S1-S4 Pupils in New Learning Community Schools in Glasgow City

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde commisioned this survey of secondary pupils in Glasgow schools and the first results were published in June 2008.  There are a range of reports that present the results at a city, community health partnership and school level.  Links to these reports are available on the Public Health Research Unit's site.
