Work stream 2: Evidence and influence PDF Print E-mail

Rationale

There are many strategies, programmes and projects being implemented in Glasgow which will have intended or unintended consequences for the city's health. Within this work stream a number of key strategic developments have been identified, and the Centre will bring processes of public health research, information and insight to these, to help maximize their impact on health.

Aims

  • To apply top quality research and evaluation to major processes of change in Glasgow, to assess their impact on a range of health outcomes.
  • To use existing and new research and evaluation findings to influence strategic development nationally and locally.
  • To enhance the work of organisations and practitioners through processes of capacity-building, organisational and professional development.

Way of working

This programme is led by Prof Carol Tannahill and delivered through a series of short- and long-term projects. Most of these are managed as integrated programmes by the public health programme managers within GCPH. Others are more self-contained projects commissioned by the Centre and delivered by colleagues in other organisations.
