12. Psychosocial factors and their relationship to health outcomes PDF Print E-mail

Background

The importance of mental wellbeing for good health is increasingly being recognised with many psychological factors identified as being potentially significant determinants of health. This programme will examine the evidence on the strengths of these relationships, review the wider cultural movement towards positive psychology, and evaluate the impacts of interventions on psychological attributes.

Milestones

Programme is in development, with preparatory work currently being undertaken. Initial components include a review of the literature on the relationship between psychological traits and health outcomes (below) and an examination of the relationships between culture and health.
