Background

Effective communications are essential to the work of the Centre. As a partnership-based organisation and as a setting for the unification of academics, policy-makers, practitioners and local people, communication is at the core of the Centre's remit. The Centre is required to secure wide involvement and ensure appropriately strong connections to policy and practice.

Mechanisms of involvement in place are operating at three levels:

  1. Partner organisations' commitment (NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Glasgow City Council, the University of Glasgow and the Scottish Executive).
  2. Direct work programme involvement (individuals, groups and organisations linked directly to the Centre's programmes of work).
  3. Other active engagement (individuals, groups and organisations with some other active linkage to th Centre's work e.g. regular attendance at the Centre's events and seminars).
  4. Wider linkage to GCPH (individuals, groups and organisations with an awareness of the Centre and its work but without active engagement to this work e.g. member of the Centre's Network of Contacts ).

Aims

  • To raise awareness, interest and involvement in the work of the Centre.
  • To ensure production of high quality outputs from the Centre's programmes, and their dissemination to relevant organisations and individuals.
  • To foster discussion, debate and fresh thinking about population health for the 21st century.
