Work stream 3: New insights and fresh thinking PDF Print E-mail

Rationale

As well as being based on evidence of effectiveness of established approaches, strategies for improving health need to be fit for the time and place in which they are being implemented. This stream of work draws on perspectives not historically strong in Glasgowçs public health thinking and practice, and involves a range of research and development processes to explore new approaches to improving population health in 21st century Scotland.

Aims

  • To develop and test a new model of how health is created within populations, integrating local data with international research.
  • To develop the Centre as a national locus for discussion, debate and fresh thinking about population health in the context of 21st Century Scotland.

Ways of working: The programmes in this workstream are more exploratory and involve the bringing together of people from different theoretical and professional backgrounds, to develop projects. The seminar series contributions are also an important dimension of this stream of work.
