The Centre has its own Board of Management made up of two senior representatives from each of the partner organisations (NHS Greater Glasgow, Glasgow City Council and the University of Glasgow) together with the Centre Director, and is chaired by the Chairman of Greater Glasgow NHS Board. The Director of Health Improvement at the Scottish Executive attends Board meetings, reflecting the Executive’s role as a sponsor. The Board is responsible for:

  • agreeing the Centre’s strategies;
  • ensuring appropriate governance mechanisms are in place;
  • mobilising the organisations’ responses to the Centre’s outputs; and
  • monitoring progress.

An Executive Management Team (EMT), with representation from each of the partner organisations, has collective responsibility for leading, developing and operationalising the Centre’s activities.

An External Advisory Group (EAG), made up of ten established experts, provides advice to the management team. The EAG has a strategic role concerned with the overall direction and quality of the Centre’s work, and with supporting the development and long-term sustainability of the Centre.

See ‘How GCPH works’ for more information on how the Centre is managed.
