Healthy Urban Environment and Design (HUED) Sub-network Meeting

    Location: Glasgow

Glasgow has recently been designated as the lead city for the HUED Sub-network for Phase V of the European Healthy Cities Network. The initial meeting of the sub-network was held in Glasgow on the 11th and 12th May and was attended by 25 people representing 10 cities across Europe.

The meeting combined a study visit with a business meeting. The study visit focussed on regeneration efforts in the neighbourhood of Govan, including the New South Glasgow Hospital campus project, the Linthouse Urban Village and the Central Govan Action Plan. The morning of the 12th May consisted of a business meeting, discussing the sub-network’s terms of reference and the development of an action plan for Phase V.

Following the business meeting, there was an optional walking visit through the Merchant City to the New Gorbals.
