View mapThe 14th Glasgow’s Healthier Future Forum followed the publication of ‘Assets in Action - illustrating asset based approaches for health improvement’ – GCPH research that illustrates the lived realities of asset based working.
The event provided an opportunity to hear practical examples of asset based working from across Scotland and discussed how asset based working can best be supported to create and maintain good health and wellbeing.
Sir Harry Burns, Chief Medical Officer, opened and chaired the event, which included presentations from:
- Jennifer McLean and Valerie McNeice (GCPH) on the Assets in Action report;
- Lisa Pattoni (IRISS) and Frances McBride (East Dunbartonshire CHP) on asset mapping for positive mental health and wellbeing in East Dunbartonshire;
- Fraser Patrick (NHS Tayside) and Gary Malone (Voluntary Action Angus) on the implementation of the NHS Tayside Communities in Control strategy; and
- Presentations by a small number of projects highlighted in the Assets in Action report.
Group discussion at the end of the morning using asset based methodologies, facilitated by Trevor Hopkins, Asset Based Consulting, allowed the opportunity for further comment and more in-depth discussion.
