‘Building cities from the people-up: empowering communities for health and resilience, a transatlantic conversation’

We are delighted to invite you to a special GCPH seminar to hear how cities in the United States are supporting the resilience and sustainability of people and places. Our speakers join us from the cities of New York, Pittsburgh and Minneapolis, and will be in conversation on how people, communities and grassroots organisations are important participants in helping cities respond and adapt to challenge and change, anticipated and unanticipated.

The session provided an opportunity to compare and contrast approaches to building resilience in the US and Scotland, to share insights and discuss how we can create the optimal conditions for flourishing and thriving communities.

    Our guest speakers:

Lolita Jackson,‎ Special Advisor, Climate Policy and Programs, NYC Mayor's Office, New York

Grant Ervin, Chief Resilience Officer and Assistant Director, Department of City Planning, Pittsburgh

Jeremy Kalin, President and CEO, Eutectics and a former Minnesota State Representative
