Healthy Urban Planning - Integrating Health and Spatial Planning

This programme seeks to strengthen processes for building health considerations into 'non-health' policies and plans, to generate and synthesise evidence about the relationships between place-making and health and to influence relevant developments at neighbourhood, city, national and international levels.

Aims:

  • To provide and generate evidence on the links between planning and health.
  • To raise awareness of and develop capacity in methods of incorporating a health perspective into planning.
  • To integrate attention to health into planning policy and practice.
