Partnership action on social determinants

Partnership working between the NHS and local authorities is now a common model throughout Scotland, including Glasgow, to best use resources and to achieve opportune outcomes.  This programme aims to better understand why this is not always successful, with particular reference to action on health inequalities and responsiveness to new knowledge, learning and research evidence.

The two main areas of investigation concern:

  • what forms of structural change towards partnership working can be effective
  • how research and other knowledge is used by managers in decision-making about health inequalities
