Concept explainer looking at 'cultural humility', a term first articulated by Melanie Tervalon and Jann Murray-García in 1998 as an alternative to more static notions of cultural competence.

It describes a lifelong process of self-reflection and self-critique, through which individuals recognise the limits of their own knowledge and remain open to learning from others.
