Dr Katharine Timpson
Public Health Research Specialist




Katharine is a Public Health Research Specialist working within the ‘action on inequality across the lifecourse’ theme. Her background is in geography and disaster management and her PhD research used archival policy sources to contribute to research on Glasgow’s excess mortality.

She is currently developing work into the ongoing rollout of universal credit and the introduction of in-work conditionality. Some of her previous work with the Centre focused on the Future of Social Protection and, in particular, the potential impact of a Universal Basic Income in Scotland.
